Thanksgiving Weekend Open Thread

I know many of you have witty and enlightening haikus in your heads, just waiting to get out, but I don't haiku prolifically enough for you. I'm sorry.

My big problem is that I come up with fabulous haikus just as I'm about to get up in the morning or just as I'm falling asleep. And by the time I get around to writing them down, they're gone. Like yesterday, I wrote this fabulous haiku about how I had this dream that the Husband was going hunting, and if the Husband wanted to remain in a matrimonial state with me, he would not do that. But it disappeared. And, frankly, that's not a very good haiku subject.

But to make up for that, I'm inviting you to write your very own haiku this week. Thanksgiving themed or otherwise. And we can all chat about them.

So, dear reader, please haiku. For my enjoyment.

Here is my haiku, which incidentally could sort of be related to Kill Bill, if you choose to read into it that way. But really, it's just about me driving back from Carlyle Lake last weekend.

    Black-tipped butterfly
    Floating on November breeze
    Harbinger of death

And as for excuses about disappearing haiku, girly, you should have none!!! ::steam:; Keep a stinkin' notebook and pen by your bed!!!

WHY can't you all be like me!?? :-P

    Nice little rabbit
Chews on carrot sticks for lunch
    To see his mommy

OMG, do I suck! The last haiku I wrote was in high school. My English teacher wasn't impressed then, and I'm sure she wouldn't be now.

Thankfully my editors expect straight prose from me nowadays :)
